Our story
It began with taking things apart.
As a child, Ryan Wall wanted to understand how everything worked. Taking things apart led him into electronics, then computing, and eventually a career spanning 30 years.
Alongside that career was another constant: an artistic eye, a love of building and fixing, and a particular pleasure in slow, patient work. The sort of work where small details deserve time.
Wall & Kin was established in Bath in 2026 to give that instinct a new direction. Something practical, rooted in the local community, and built around things worth keeping.
Meet the founder
Ryan Wall CEng
Ryan qualified as a Chartered Engineer through the Institution of Engineering and Technology, with a background in electrical engineering and computing.
That experience shaped a habit of looking closely, understanding a problem and working patiently towards a solution. At Wall & Kin, it sits alongside a personal interest in materials, making and the details that give an object its character.

A future with room for different strengths.
Behind Wall & Kin is a family ambition: to build a lasting business that Ryan’s children can one day contribute to, help shape and carry forward.
The hope is to create meaningful work for people whose talents conventional workplaces can overlook, including neurodivergent people. A place where patience, care and different ways of thinking have room to flourish.
It is an ambition to grow towards, one considered step at a time. Useful work, a sustainable family livelihood, and something of value to pass on.
